TeleVue - Tele-Pod Advanced w/ Sky Tour

With Tele Vue's Tele-Pod Alt-Az Mount with Sky Tour Mount Computer the only thing missing is your optical tube assembly. This bundle includes Tele Vue's Sky Tour computer and their Tele Pod mount/tripod.

The Sky Tour gives you the ability to precisely align, aim, track and find celestial objects with your alt-az, EQ, or fork mount. Using a simple 2-star alignment process to set up the controller, you will be able to choose the mode and use the information the controller gives you to manually move the scope to various objects, identify nearby objects that you see, or have it give you a tour of what is visible on any given night. While this is not a traditional 'GoTo' system, the included encoders keeps precise track of the changing orientation of the scope to provide real-time updated coordinates. And if you know an objects location, it can be entered and the Sky Tour will tell you where to move the scope to find it.

The Tele Pod provides a stable and sturdy platform for your OTA. It is a convenient, easy to use, travel mount for telescope OTAs up to about 76mm for astronomical use, and 85mm for terrestrial. The Tele-Pod combines the size, weight and flexibility of a photo tripod with the smooth, balanced altitude/azimuth motions of a yoke-and-cradle alt-az mount head. Tension-adjustable axes provide smooth motion for finding and tracking subjects without the need to constantly work locking knobs. Its offset tilt axis avoids interference between head and tripod. The included tripod features a 22 lb load capacity, 28-64.2" height range, anodized aluminum construction, and each leg has three sections with rubberized feet for better traction.
