The Officina Stellare Pro RC Series telescopes are made of some of the best quality optics including but not limited to, homogenous blanks of certified origin chosen between borosilicate glass. The Pro RC series have excellent aluminum and anti reflex coatings for superior imaging quality for the consumer.

Officina Stellare uses aluminum (or full-carbon as an optional upgrade!) due to their lightweight and thermal stability properties. Along with the near zero thermal expansion optics (especially apparent in the upgraded ceramic glass versions), this allows for a very stable astronomical instrument since all the mechanical parts are CNC computer assisted machined from a whole block of aluminum.

The optical tube's hyperbolic shaping along with the lightweight ensures not to introduce any shift in the system. The primary mirror is a multi-point fixed cell linearly held in the center and radially on the borders in order to distribute the weights for any given position.

Collimation has also been improved in the Officina Stellare Pro RC telescope series. Collimation has been simplified by using three points (minimum number of required points to generate a single plane) using a special, great diameter preloaded bolts for each one, further simplifying it use by turning the bolts left or right to adjust the mirror to adjust collimation. The mirror borders uses an opaque circular mask to avoid undesired light scattering. The light shields for both mirrors are computer designed to ensure complete illumination of the field with protection from stray light. Inside the light shields there are also micro baffles that reduces, coupled with an opaque painting of the surfaces, to nearly zero any possible parasite stray light. The light shield for the secondary mirror is made and adjusted using a special layout that maintains efficiency while also reducing obstruction. The back plate comes standard with a system for adjusting the planarity of the focal plane in order to compensate for any small misalignment in the imaging train, always unwanted and annoying specially on today’s large CCD cameras.
