Maksutov-Cassegrains are very similar to Schmidt-Cassegrains, but rather they use convex meniscus lenses in replacement of corrector plates. The main advantage here compared to other similar models is that Maksutov-Cassegrains don't need periodic collimation as many other telescopic models do. In addition, because mirror obstruction is smaller, images appear with greater contrasts, but will have a narrower field of view due to the Maksutov-Cassegrain's slow focal ratio which tends to make this telescope design better for planetary and double star observing.
Use Viper’s joy stick controller to easily slew the telescope. The Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope has a motor-driven altazimuth mount with single fork arm. Comes complete with joy-stick controller, 8x21 correct image finder, built-in flip mirror diagonal and K25mm eyepiece. The Viper is enclosed in an attractive gift box.... Learn MoreModel#: 3284
