QHYCCD QHY5III178 is the highest resolution camera in the QHY5III series.  This CMOS camera's fine pixel size and large array is well suited as a wide field autoguider, an ultra high resolution planetary video camera and an entry level deep sky imager.   An anti-amp glow control feature is built in for deep sky object imaging.  The Sony IMX178 STARVIS sensor by Sony is a back-illuminated sensor designed for high-sensitivity applications, capable of capturing high quality full visible spectrum and near infrared light.  
Utliizing Sony's Global Shutter design, Pregius(tm), the QHY5III CMOS cameras provide crisp, clear, distortion free images even at high frame rates. This refined technology boosts CMOS camera performance to be comparable to CCD cameras, with lower read noise and higher overall sensitivity and quantum efficiency than CCD sensors of similar size and cost.  Pixelation is eliminated thanks to this innovative shutter technology.  Boasting USB 3.0 high speed upload rates are greatly reduced when compared to USB 2.0 cameras.  
The compact design of QHYCCD's cameras, allows these powerful video cameras to remain the size of a typical 1.25" eyepiece.  With highly efficient heat transfer, noise is further reduced and your camera remains stable throughout the night, especially when exposed to high ambient temperatures.  This simple barrel design also provides the shortest backfocus possible making the QHY5III178 an excellent choice as an autoguider.  LEMO style connectors are used for rugged durability.
