Product Description

iOptron - CEM60 - Center Balanced Equatorial Mount -  #7200

Introducing the iOptron CEM60 equatorial mount
An extraordinary innovation in mount design.
...Now with a new payload!

This past year we introduced a new design concept -- the center-balanced GoTo mount (or CEM) called the ZEQ25. Now, we're proud to introduce the iOptron CEM60 equatorial mount with an increased payload of 60 lbs! The CEM60 puts the weight of the payload at the center of gravity allowing for greater natural stability. This makes the mount extremely light compared to its payload--a nice benefit when setting up at a remote site. Other features include an adjustable counterweight bar to prevent obstruction with the tripod or pier. And polar aligning is quick and accessible all the time since the polar scope is not blocked by the declination shaft.

The iOptron CEM60 equatorial mount is equipped with the most advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate center-balanced GoTo mounts available. Its database includes over 300,000 objects. The Go2Nova® Hand Controller is intuitive to use and its large 8-line LCD screen simplifies the process of setting telescopes and locating objects. The CEM60- a new category (and payload capacity) of for viewing and astrophotography.

I got this mount at the end of May 2017 and have been using it this summer. It's great from both a functional and a value standpoint. Easy to set-up and use and is light enough to move around easily (important for those of us without a permanent pier). Once I've got it polar aligned, it tracks really well and my guidescope barely makes any adjustments. Would totally purchase again. (Posted on 8/22/2017)

I really did my homework on this mount. Had read a lot of reviews on the CEM 60 mount, and watched just about every video about this mount on YouTube .
One of the first things to catch my attention was the weight- ratio payload.
The mount weighs 27lbs. and can carry 60lbs of equipment not including counterweights. The latitude adjustment is by far the easiest and the best that I've ever used. The RA and DEC are extremely free-flowing no sticking at all, makes balancing your equipment a breeze. Ultra quite motors. The GPS locks on to your site and puts all the information into your hand controller in a matter of seconds . The hand controller is the most intuitive and easiest controller to navigate I have ever used. It has a very easy and accurate polar scope. All metal construction, USB and power outlets on saddle plate for easy cable management. All my go-to's are dead center all the time. Carries my 6" APO and 9.25 SCT with accessories wonderfully on the tri-pier. The CEM60 uses a magnetically loaded gear system to maintain a constant mesh, there is virtually no backlash. It's a wonderful mount at this price point. (Posted on 2/27/2017)
