Product Description

QHY16200A/IC16200A uses a unique APS-H CCD sensor, a product of close collaboration between QHYCCD and Sensor Supplier . This sensor is specially designed and manufactured with amateur astronomers in mind who needs mono sensor larger than APS-C.

APS-H Format CCD Sensor

The QHY16200 16mp camera effective image area is 27mm x 21.6mm, making the APS-H sensor significantly bigger than other types. The APS-H format is suitable for most telescope and also suitable for 2" filters.

The 6um x 6um pixel size of the sensor makes it slightly bigger than the 8300 5.4um and the QE is around the same if not slightly above the 8300 sensor. With a 37ke full well capacity is higher than the 25.5ke of 8300.

This camera by default comes with a monochrome sensor, but a color sensor is available upon request. 

 

 

"A" Series Camera - Fully Integrated

 The QHYCCD 16200A and IC16200A belong to the new All-in-One camera series, also called the "A" series for short. These cameras include a built-in motor driven filter wheel and supports the QHYOAG which can be directly installed on the camera with six screws at minimum back focus, a crucial focus point for some optical systems.

The filter wheel in QHY16200A/IC16200A consists of 5 positions for 2" filters. The camera is compatible with the medium size QHYOAG.

The 7 Position Filter wheel also consists of 50mm filter wheel as well as the Off Axis Guider. 

Some other additions included in the "A" series are an internal USBHUB (2.0) with two USB host ports and a USB to dual RS232 converter, therefore a guiding camera, mount and electric focuser can be connected directly to this camera instead of the computer to reduce cable clutter and disconnection.

 

 

Single 12V power socket with screw lock and USB Clip

The QHYCCD16200A uses the single 12V power. It can connect with DC plugs with thread lock to get solid connection. There is another socket which is connected to the input in parallel. It can supply the 12V to another device nearby.

USB is designed for commercial electric using. It is not solid and the contact is not well for high reliable applications. It may cause a USB transfer hang when telescope is moving. In the "A" series design QHYCCD makes a unique stainless steel USB cable clip to improve it.

 

Butterfly Shutter - unlimited life and uniform illumination

This camera uses a mechanical shutter looks like butterfly shape. This shutter is driven by motor directly and it is only one piece with no friction with others. The working life is almost unlimited. This shutter has two sides to cover the light. One is left  open the shutter And another is to enter to close the shutter. It has a uniform illumination feature.
