Reviews
1. Hand controller doesn't remember date/time when you start and it has the be entered every time you turn on the mount.
2. The is a slight bit of backlash when reversing direction.
3. When you are putting the mount onto it's tripod, there is a steel rod that screws in from below that also holds the eye-piece tray/leg-spreader for the tripod. The rod isn't quite long enough to be able to start it threading into the mount from below and then pivot the eye-piece tray to engage the legs. The tolarance is so close that the tray has to have it's "wings" engage the legs as you are trying to insert the threaded end of the rod into the bottom of the mount from under the tripod. So you need two hands to hold the mount on top of the tripod, and another two hands to start threading the rod into the mount above while at the same time making sure the "wings" of the eye-piece tray engage the legs in their v=-notched ends. So with two people it's not a drawback.
Over all, I am very pleased with it's performance handling a GSO 6" RC with a ZWO ASI camera. (about 15 lb payload)
I did have some issues with the software installation and connecting via a cable I had to purchase separately to connect the hand controller to a PC via an ASCOM Driver. But those turned out to be my own fault and was easily corrected with re-installing the drivers in the correct order (i.e. #1. Install the .NET Framework 3.5, (even if you have a newer version like .NET 4.8) #2. ASCOM Platform. THEN #3 install the ASCOM driver for the EXOS 2GT. POSH and Stellarium both work with it fine once the installation is done correctly.
I would recommend this mount to someone looking for an inexpensive goto mount for a AP scope up to 16 lbs or a visual scope up to 26lbs.
