  • The Celestron 32062 features an 8” (200 mm) f/5 optical design which provides excellent wide field views and is paired with the Advanced VX computerized equatorial mount.

  • This Newtonian features a parabolic primary mirror minimizes spherical aberration to produce a better image.  Fast focal ratio keeps exposure times down.

  • Periodic error correction with integer gear ratios and permanently programmable PEC help to eliminate tracking errors inherent in worm gears.

  • Upgraded motors offer further improved tracking performance and higher power to prevent wobbling due to load imbalances.  The AVX mount has been redesigned all around for more rigidity and less flexure.

  • View and image across meridian without the motor housings interfereing.  The Advanced VX mount also includes a wider latitude range than previous models, now useable from 7-77 degrees latitude.

  • NexStar+ hand control offers multiple language programming (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish)

Product Description

Celestron - Advanced VX 8" Newtonian Telescope on AVX Computerized Mount (32062)

The Celestron Advanced VX 8" Newtonian has 78% more light gathering than the 6" model, making it more suitable for observing dimmer objects. Since reflectors often summer for coma, the parabolic primary mirror provides sharper images at the edge of the field of view to reduce the effect. For visual observers and even astroimagers, the large aperture shows lots in detail from planets to brighter deep sky objects. With a mid focal ratio of f/5, this telescope is balanced for both observing planets and deep sky objects.

Celestron's Advanced VX has most of the same features found in the most advanced Celestron mounts but at a smaller price! Astrophotographers will certainly find this mount useful because it has it is capable of mounting smaller optical tubes such as most of the Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tubes while still using the powerful alignment and slewing tools found in larger mounts like the CGE Pro and CGEM. The All-Star Polar Alignment is probably one of the best features since it strives to give the best alignment possible to the celestial pole so imaging can go more smoothly. The Periodic Error Correction (PEC) built into the mount also assists in longer exposures since it counteracts constant errors in the mount's drive gears which minimize shifts during exposures. Much like the higher-end mounts, the meridian can also be imaged without flipping the mount around, a major plus for astrophotography! The Celestron Advanced VX Mount can be used between 7-77 degrees latitude and utilizes the NexStar hand controller for slewing and finding objects.
