Starlight Xpress - TRIUS PRO-825C USB Hub CCD Color Camera (Blue)
Starlight Xpress products are known for their compact design, innovative features, and high build quality. The new TRIUS-PRO camera range elevates this reputation even further.
In addition to enhancing the ultra-low noise performance found in earlier models like the SXV, SXVF, SXVR, and the original TRIUS cameras, the TRIUS-PRO boasts faster download speeds of around 2.8 million pixels per second.

TRIUS PRO-825C Color Camera Features
- The Starlight Xpress TRIUS Pro-825C is renowned for its innovative and durable construction.
- Resolution of 1.4mp with a pixel array and size of 1392 x 1040 and 6.45um respectively.
- Improved super low-noise capabilities compared to previous SXV, SXVF, SXVR, and original TRIUS models.
- New TRIUS-PRO cameras offer download speeds of approximately 2.8 million pixels per second.
- Features a powered USB hub with three USB 2.0 ports at the rear, each supplying up to 200mA for devices like Lodestar autoguiders, filter wheels, and USB focusers.
- The built-in USB hub minimizes cable trails, reducing tangling during imaging sessions.
- Equipped with new 3-stage Peltier cooler stacks and an Argon-filled CCD chamber for superior temperature control and cooling performance.
- Has a QE peak of approximately 65% at 540nm.
- Includes USB 2.0 for camera control, +12v DC power jack, and an opto-isolated RJ11 Guider Port for guiding.
- When using unbinned mode, full well capacity is more than 23,000 e-.
- Each camera features a specially made fused silica window with a 7-layer anti-reflective coating, reducing dew formation and enhancing durability.
- The cooling system achieves approximately -45°C delta T, with a built-in fan for optimal heat management.
- Design allows for CCD and optics to be parallel, facilitating adjustments for collimation issues for sharper images.
- Prevents moisture condensation during cooling, contributing to better thermal performance and stability.
New Level of Features Compared to Earlier Camera Models
Starlight Xpress products are well-known for their compact design, innovative features, and exceptional build quality, but the TRIUS-PRO cameras take it to a new level with even better low noise, relative to earlier camera models and a remarkable download speed of 2.8 million pixels a second. With rocksolid three stage Peltier cooling and an argon filled chamber to remove any possible moisture, exposures are kept clean from external factors that could comprimise performance other than possible dark current and noise.
With three USB 2.0 ports each providing 200mA of power, autoguider cameras, filter wheels and other accessories can be connected without issue and cable clutter.
Multiple USB and Power Ports Included to Connect Accessories
The Starlight Xpress TRIUS Pro-825 Camera features several input and output option including a USB 2.0 socket for computer control and a +12v DC jack for power supply (approximately 1.5 amps at 12v DC). Additionally, there is an opto-isolated RJ11 Guider Port output that can drive any standard active-low guider input using the included RJ11 'telescope' lead. There are also three Mini-B 5-pin USB 2.0 sockets available to control up to three different USB devices, such as a autoguider, filter wheel and focuser. Each USB port can supply 5v DC with a maximum current of 200mA.
Fused Silica Window and Argon Filled Housing for Dew Management
The TRIUS Pro-825 includes a fused silica window and an Argon filled housing with a several layers of anti reflective coating, thus insuring no dew risk forms during the middle of imaging sessions compromising exposures or possibly damaging the camera.
Peltier Cooling System for Optimal Performance
The cooling system of the TRIUS PRO-825 Camera is orchestrated for maximum efficiency in a compact design, thus the Peltier cooling system reaches optimal temperature of -45°C with the built in rear fall to remove excess heat couples with the heatsink to remove is at the back of the camera housing.
Camera Housing Design is Tilted to Keep Parallel Orientation to Optics
To keep the camera front plate properly aligned relative to the telescope or lens optics, Starlight Xpress has designed the TRIUS Pro with a slightly tilted front so this is already accomplished when attaching to imaging train, making collimation very easy.
