Starizona Hyperstar 4 lenses offers the ultimate in astrophotography lens configuration flexibility.  Unlike fixed focal ratio RASA optical tubes, when paired with a Fastar compatible telescope, the Hyperstar 4 gives you the option of either using your telescope as an ultra-fast astrophoto lens at f/1.9 or using it in the standard f/10 configuration allowing your telescope to remain both visual and imaging ready.  The Hyperstar 4 series has a larger image circle of 28mm to accommodate larger camera sensors and the housing has been redesigned for faster and easier collimation. 

Hyperstar Version 4 8 inch : has the ability to use mirrorless cameras full frame so there is no expansion of more central obstruction issue. and it will give you pin point stars Edge to Edge all the way up to 28mm.

If you choose to shoot flat frames to incorporte in your images the Vignietting on full frame would be minimized.

This system has a larger image circle than RASA 8 by Celestron as well as the fact that it accepts the filter slider which allows you to shoot Narrow band..

Greatly reduce your exposure times, 25x to be exact when you convert your Celestron 8" SCT from f/10 to f/1.9.   Get more out of your nightly imaging sessions, capture more in less time and capture the beauty of deep-sky images without intensive guiding or an EQ wedge.    The increased field of view gives your traditional fork-mounted telescope or EQ mounted telescope a higher tolerance for inherent tracking errors which is key for unguided imaging.    Optical performance is excellent, with a coma-free, flat field of view up to 4.1 degrees wide.

Focusing a Hyperstar is no more involved than focusing any other optical system for imaging.  Bahtinov and other focusing masks or autofocus or microfocus systems can be used to achieve perfect focus along with any software that displays a Full-Width Half-Max star value.  Specific camera backfocus does become more crucial with the higher f-ration and adapters are made to be within  +/- 0.5mm of the optimal focus range. 

The HyperStar 4 Series C8 is compatible with a variety of cameras, including CCD, CMOS and DSLRs. The HyperStar 8 covers up to a 28mm sensor size. Separate adapters are required for different cameras. One adapter is included with the HyperStar lens, please indicate your camera so the correct adapter can be provided.

The standard adapter included with your Hyperstar will accomodate a single 2" filter.  This is an ideal configuration for single-shot color cameras and an IR/UV filter or imaging quality light pollution suppression filter but for monochrome imaging with false color filters, the optional filter slider can be used to allow the use of any number of filters you would like.   The sleek circular design and easy to remove and insert filter holder allows for easy access to filters and quick changes.   Additional filter drawers can be added as well to minimize filter change time.
