Starizona Hyperstar 4 lenses for EdgeHD telescopes offers the ultimate in astrophotography lens configuration flexibility.  Unlike fixed focal ratio RASA optical tubes, when paired with a Fastar compatible telescope, the Hyperstar 4 gives you the option of either using your telescope as an ultra-fast astrophoto lens at f/1.9 or using it in the standard f/10 configuration allowing your telescope to remain both visual and imaging ready.  The Hyperstar 4 series has a larger image circle of 28mm to accommodate larger camera sensors and the housing has been redesigned for faster and easier collimation. 

Greatly reduce your exposure times, 25x to be exact when you convert your Celestron 11" EdgeHD from f/10 to f/1.9.   Get more out of your nightly imaging sessions, capture more in less time and capture the beauty of deep-sky images without intensive guiding or an EQ wedge.    The increased field of view gives your traditional fork-mounted telescope or EQ mounted telescope a higher tolerance for inherent tracking errors which is key for unguided imaging.    Optical performance is excellent, with a coma-free, flat field of view up to 3.7 degrees wide.

Focusing a Hyperstar is no more involved than focusing any other optical system for imaging.  Bahtinov and other focusing masks or autofocus or microfocus systems can be used to achieve perfect focus along with any software that displays a Full-Width Half-Max star value.  Specific camera backfocus does become more crucial with the higher f-ration and adapters are made to be within  +/- 0.5mm of the optimal focus range. 

The HyperStar 4 Series C11 is compatible with a variety of cameras, including CCD, CMOS and DSLRs. The HyperStar 8 covers up to a 28mm sensor size. Separate adapters are required for different cameras. One adapter is included with the HyperStar lens, please indicate your camera so the correct adapter can be provided.

The standard adapter included with your Hyperstar will accomodate a single 2" filter.  This is an ideal configuration for single-shot color cameras and an IR/UV filter or imaging quality light pollution suppression filter but for monochrome imaging with false color filters, the optional filter slider can be used to allow the use of any number of filters you would like.   The sleek circular design and easy to remove and insert filter holder allows for easy access to filters and quick changes.   Additional filter drawers can be added as well to minimize filter change time.
