Starizona - Cool Edge - SCT Cooler 8"

The Starizona Cool Edge is an excellent accessory designed to stabilize the optics of a telescope to ambient air temperature, keeping the telescope in better conditions. It was named a Hot Product in 2012! Starizona has designed the Cool Edge accessory to work well with Celestron's EdgeHD. By placing the Cool Edge in front of the telescope to accommodate the rear-cell air vents used the Celestron HD telescopes, it will still be able to cool the optical tube. In addition to standard EdgeHD telescopes, observers can also use the accessory with other Fastar-compatible Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes by leaving the scope's visual back open to allow air flow. The Cool Edge attaches to the telescope just like a HyperStar lens would; you simply remove the secondary mirror and thread the Cool Edge on. All Fastar-compatible telescopes ship with easily removable secondary mirrors to allow the use of a HyperStar lens. This also allows the use of the Cool Edge.

By simply removing the secondary mirror from the telescope, the Cool Edge can be attached to the front and reattached to the secondary mirror, keeping filter ambient air into the telescope and out the air vents. This keeps ambient temperature and a better setup for imaging.
