Due to the danger that solar radiation can cause to eyes, unlike night observation, pointing a telescope using traditional finderscopes to the Sun is not possible nor safe. This is where the Sol Ranger Solar Viewfinder comes into play. By projecting a small image of the solar disk in the rear of the viewfinder, the user will know the telescope is pointed at the Sun's current sky coordinates and can center and align accordingly.
