While the regular Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer is a great tool to have for night sky imaging, it may be out of budget for some people as well as too large or heavy and would be preferred for something easier to use. This is where the Star Adventurer Mini comes into play! With a payload of 6.6 pounds compared to 11 lbs for the regular Star Adventurer, it still is capable of mounting a wide variety of cameras and smaller optical tubes that are more than sufficient for night sky observation!

Just like the regular version, the Star Adventurer Mini also includes WiFi control that can be managed via the Star Adventurer Console App (available on iOS and Android). Tracking speeds of sidereal, solar, and lunar can be customized via the app. Polar alignment is simply a breeze with the included illuminated polar finderscope and once alignment is properly set, the camera and tracking modes can be set by the user to begin imaging! It is that simple! For users with a DSLR camera, the Star Adventurer Mini also has automatic shutter release control, thus no intervelometer timer is needed. Using an auxiliary shutter release cable, automatic programmed exposures will continue at the proper settings and time intervals.

A great selling point of the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Mini console is its compatibility with most tripods. Whatever tripod someone is already using for their regular run-of-the-mill photography likely can also be used with the Mini. Any tripod with a 3/8" thread or 0.25"-20" threads (with the included adapter) is compatible.
