It features a 127mm aperture and a 1500mm focal length. In addition, a front convex lens corrects off-axis and spherical distortions. It also features a 2x28mm eyepiece that produces 54x magnification.

The versatile Virtuoso Base features a table top that can be used with a variety of photographic tripods. It also comes with a built-in LCD display and a free SynScan app for iOS and Android. The app allows users to view a database that contains over 10,000 objects, such as catalogs from Messier, NGC, IC, and Caldwell. Dual encoders allow for manual control while maintaining alignment. It features eight AA batteries and an optional 12VDC power cord.
