The Sky-Watcher is a dual-purpose flattener and reducer designed for use with their Esprit 150 ED refractor optical tube. It features a field flattener and a 0.77x focal reducer. These components correct the spherical aberration in curved lenses, which can cause images to appear distorted when viewed from the edges. As a focal reducer, it reduces the scope's focal ratio, which results in wider fields of view and shorter exposure times. Reduces the focal ratio of the optical tube from f/7 to f/5, which results in shorter exposure times and wider fields of view. It also allows you to use various filters to create better images in post. The Sky-watcher features a back focus ring and a 2x filter thread for mounting various filters, such as polarizing light, moon, and light pollution. Flat images are produced with no streaking or curvature at the edges due to the reduction of spherical distortions. It's compatible with both full frame and APS-C cameras and features a 36mm illuminated field.
