CQ350 Equatorial Mount Head
The SkyWatcher CQ350 equatorial mount improves on traditional EQ design with an innovative yoke system that allows for more evenly distributed weight and easier polar alignment. At a 77 pounds load capacity, high accuracy movement and tracking and the ability to be easily remote controlled with an optional SynScan adapter, the CQ350 is the ideal choice for imaging applications that require an affordable mount that delivers professional results.
SkyWatcher CQ350 Mount Features:
- 77 pound load capacity
- SNAP port eliminates the need for a shutter release.
- Stepper motors with no internal gear box help to reduce backlash.
- Specially designed yoke provides even weight distribution for easier set up and polar alignment.
- Ultra quiet motors and a belt driven system for smooth operation and excellent tracking performance while reducing periodic error.
- Solar, Lunar and Sidereal tracking rates.
- 2 homing sensors, allowing for fast corrections to alignment, easy re-homing and resync.
- Mechanical stops to keep the mount head stable for telescope installation and prevent any unexpected movement.
- USB port for hard-wired computer control. Add an optional SynScan adapter for WiFi remote control.
- Adjustable counterweight shaft allow the CQ350 pound to be used in a wide range of locations.
- Through mount power allow for neat cable management, adapter sold separately.
- Dual saddle plate accepts both D and V series dovetails.
- Autoguide port.
Imaging Class Performance and Payload
The CQ350-PRO is designed from the ground up to handle imaging payloads of up to 77lbs. No longer are you limited to the half payload ratings of most mounts, thanks to the new locking clutch that prevents the mount from moving during loading and installation.
The specially designd yoke system allows easier polar alignment as weight is distributed evenly across the system. Traditional GEM mounts have a lot of downwards pressure over the counterweight shaft that makes altitude adjustments a lot harder.
Whisper quiet motors and belt driven system ensures smooth operation and tracking performance out of the box. Capable of multiple tracking speeds from Solar/Lunar to planets and sidereal rates. A high precision 0.9 degree hybrid stepper motor, combined with spring loaded worm gears, synchronous wheel and belt driven models, locking RA and Dec clutches provide exceptional tracking and slewing performance.
Connectivity and Management
Designed for the imager in mind, the CQ350-PRO comes loaded with USB connectivity to allow for better cable management. Power can also be routed through the saddle using an additional power supply (sold separately).
Expand the CQ350-PRO capability with WiFi connectivity using the SynScan Wi-Fi Adapter (sold sparately).
The CQ350-PRO supports any astronomy imaging software utilizing the ASCOM platform as well as direct connection with the SynScan Pro App.
Innovation and Function
Equipped with two homing sensors, the CQ350-PRO can make short work of alignment procedures and takes out the guesswork on homing the mount. This means that if the mount loses alignment, slew back to home position and resyncing is now a breeze, even in a remote situation.
Mechanical hard stops as well as programmable limits are also a standard feature that allows for complete ease of mind and confidence.
The CQ350-PRO also has the ability to be mounted on permanent piers (pier adapter required - sold separately), as well as being mounted on the Sky-Watcher Heavy Duty Field Tripod. The CQ350-PRO can also be mounted on the Sky-Watcher portable pier without the need of any additional adapters or hardware.
A new added feature of the CQ350-PRO is the ability to shift the counterweight shaft to allow for low latitudes as well as tripod clearance. The position can be set easily allowing the mount to be used in some of the most extreme locations.
Smart design features like an oversized latitude knob for easy use with gloved hands, dual saddle plate for simple attachment of the optical tube of your choice and SNAP port for easy camera shutter control cater to astronomers of all levels making the CQ350 mount simple and enjoyable to use without compromising performance.
