One of the most noticeable and significant benefits of Dobsonian telescopes such as the Sky-Watcher Classic 200P is the aperture and light gathering power for the lower cost when compared to other telescope types of the same aperture. For the Sky-Watcher Classic 200 8" Dobsonian Telescope, in addition to have a 8" aperture at a reasonable cost, the parabolic primary mirror is composed of borosilicate glass and then coated with Radiant Aluminum Quartz (RAQ) coatings to improve reflectivity up to 94%. These two factors combined results in a light gathering power of 816x brighter than the human eye! Sky-Watcher has installed Teflon bearings for the user to manually slew smoothly as well as a patented tension control handle to lock the telescope to wherever the desired target is. It can also support both 1.25" and 2" accessories making almost any eyepiece compatible.
