One of the most noticeable and significant benefits of Dobsonian telescopes such as the Sky-Watcher Classic 150P is the aperture and light gathering power for the lower cost when compared to other telescope types of the same aperture. For the Sky-Watcher Classic 150 6" Dobsonian Telescope, in addition to have a 6" aperture at a reasonable cost, the parabolic primary mirror is composed of borosilicate glass and then coated with Radiant Aluminum Quartz (RAQ) coatings to improve reflectivity up to 94%. These two factors combined results in a light gathering power of 460x brighter than the human eye! More than sufficient for an excellent observing session of planetary objects to fainter and low surface brightness objects such as deep sky.

Sky-Watcher has installed Teflon bearings for the user to manually slew smoothly as well as a patented tension control handle to lock the telescope to wherever the desired target is. It can also support both 1.25" and 2" accessories making almost any eyepiece compatible.
