QHYCCD Q-Focuser High Precision Version
The QHYCCD Q Focuser High Precision Version is an ultra lightweight and extremely compact motorized focus aid designed to provide users with motorized fine focus control with nearly zero backlash thanks to non-reducing motors. This focus motor can easily be used in lightweight travel systems thanks to it’s low weight and compact body design. Software provided with the focuser and is both Windows, ASCOM and Linux compatible for native control or control with third party softwares of your choosing. The focuser includes an external temperture sensor, USB 2.0 Type C cable for easy connection to your systems and a standard 5v/12v power adapter. Multiple couplers, mounting brackets and screws are included for an all inclusive package.

High Precision Non-Reducing Motor
The typical motor for motorized focusers uses reducing gears which do not allow for manual adjustment of focus after install and have a natural small amount of backlash. By using non-reducing gears the high precision version provides a near zero backlash experience and allows for manual adjustments of focus at any time with the need for a clutch switch.
Backlash calculations include the entire focus system and the focus motor mount, therefore a non-reducing system with no mechanical reduction in gears combined with a very good focus mount will result in near zero backlash without any additional callibration. See the NINA test for backlash below:


More About the Q-Focuser
The Q Focuser is easily adapted to a wide variety of systems thanks to the slotted adapter plates. Rather than using fixed holes, these open slots allow for plates to be placed and adjusted as needed to put the focuser at the proper distance and height for your telescope. The high precision version would be installed on the fine focus adjustment side of your system. In the event that you have just one focus adjustment knob, the Q Focuser would be attached to that side or the fine adjustment. All of the necessary screws are also included.
An external temperature gauge is included with both the standard and high precision focuser versions.
The included QHYCCD drivers support both Windows (ASCOM and Linux systems. ASCOM drivers integrate all basic functions like movement, customized current position, limit switches, torque maintenance and temperature display which allows control through other third party softwares.
