Optec has collaborated with Chris White from Overcast Observatory to revamp the mechanical design of the Flip-Flat electroluminescent calibration panel. The result? The new Alnitak Flip-Flat 270, features an enhanced design that allows for a complete 270-degree rotation of the flat field lamp panel, seamlessly aligning it with the side of the telescope OTA tube.

The Flip-Flat 270+ (stk# 19054) is compatible with OTA dew shields measuring up to 8-1/8" (206mm) in diameter, and comes equipped with proven inverter electronics and a 167mm EL lamp, maintaining the quality and performance of the Gen2 Alnitak Flip-Flat.

This innovative mechanical design is adaptable to other variants such as the Flip-Mask or Remote Dust Cover. Additionally, Overcast Observatory offers custom 3D-printed mounting rings tailored to fit various telescope tube diameters, eliminating the need for industrial zip ties previously included with every Flip-Flat purchased through Optec.
