Explore Scientific - EXOS2-GT Equatorial Mount with PMC-8 NOW IPAD and Android acceptable

Explore Scientific brings ultra-precision PMC-8 electronics to a lightweight and portable equatorial mount.  The EXOS2-GT equatorial mount will carry loads up to 28 pounds and is fully computerized, equipped with Explore Scientific's ExploreStars software.  ExploreStars is an intuitive and easy to use software program, designed to use with a touchscreen device with rich, full color images and engaging facts about the objects in its database.

The EXOS2-GT belt driven motor system uses 2 timing pulleys, a 1-45 groove and 1-10 groove, with a neoprene fiberglass reinenforced belt which is connected to a Nema11 bi-polar stepper motor.  The .67 amp 12ncm motor is connected to a worm.  Precision ball bearings in both axes ensure minimal backlash at all nine possible tracking speeds.  The included battery pack holds 8 D cell batteries so you can operate your mount without needing a direct power source.   A 2" stainless steel tripod is included for the best stability with fully adjustable legs that expand from 26.8" to 42.5".

Unlike most mounts on the market, PMC-8 mount electronics use a 2 channel multi-processor micro-controller with 8 CPU's running independantly.  With this system, a 64 kilobyte EEPROM non-volatile memory bank is used to store commands and parameteres.   Coupled with a wireless ethernet 10/100 with full IP functions, you can use your mount anywhere using a browser, ASCOM or APP via a web connection or serial port.   The PMC-8 series of mounts from Explore Scientific features the only built-in wireless ASCOM system. An ST4 autoguide port is also included to add this functionality to your guiding system.

What sets ExploreStars OpenGoTo apart in the market is that is a full open source GoTo program.  Use your own code and import it to the software.  Create an object challenge, a DSO treasure hunt, make a to-do list of objects you want to image.  Anything you can dream up, you can program ExploreStars to do - the sky is the limit.

In addition, this mount can be controlled by any ASCOM compliant software using the built-in wireless ASCOM driver. GPS-compatible and auto time / date settings are dependent on optional receiver on computer, tablet or phone.

Here are most of the ASCOM software packages available for use with the Explore Scientific / Losmandy G-11 with PMC-8 mount: ACP; APT; AST / ATC & Ricerca (Omega Lab); AstroArt; AstroMB; Cartes du Ciel / Sky Chart; CCD AutoPilot; DeepSky; Deepsky Planner; DFM Engineering; Earth Centered Universe Pro; EasySky; Eye and Telescope; Project Pluto; Hallo Northern Sky; Maxim DL; MaxPoint; PinPoint Astrometric; Prism; Sequence Generator Pro; Sidereal Technology; The Sky; SkyMap Software; SkyTools 3;  Star Atlas PRO; Sky Observer; StarryNight; Stellarium; Virtual Moon Atlas; and WorldWide Telescope.
