The Chroma LRGB filter set transmits a wide span of wavelengths, ranging from Red, Green and Blue and Luminance. Because of this broad passband, these filters deliver a high signal-to-noise ratio and excel at recording fine structural details in a wide range of deep-sky objects.
The Chroma H-alpha 3nm Narrowband filter is a geared mainly for astrophotography of deep sky emission sources of the H-alpha 656nm spectral line by optimizing the narrow bandpass of 3nm. By having a bandpass this narrow (as opposed to a 5nm or 8nm version), it boosts contrast of the H-alpha signal while removing far more light from beyond the specific H-alpha wavelength.

- Enhancing the contrast of the H-alpha signal and effectively blocking extraneous light beyond the specific H-alpha wavelength with its extremely narrow 3nm bandpass.
- This filter is well-suited for mid-range to slow focal ratio optical systems, as it maintains a minimal Center Wavelength shift and significantly reduces the risk of light loss compared to lower-quality filters.
