Chroma Technology - OIII 3nm Highspeed f/3 Narrowband Filter - 2" Mounted
***This is the Highspeed version of Chroma Technology Narrowband Filters. They are optimized to work with high-speed imaging systems like the Hyperstar and RASA by shifting the passband and center wavelength into the red. These versions are recommended for f/3 systems. Anything faster, the standard 5nm Narrowband filters should be used.
The Chroma OIII 3nm Highspeed Narrowband filter is a geared mainly for astrophotography of deep sky emission sources of the OIII 500nm spectral line by optimizing the narrow bandpass of 3nm. It is designed for faster focal ratios (between f/2.8-f/3.6) to account for bandshift. By having a bandpass this narrow (as opposed to a 5nm or 8nm version), it boosts contrast of the OIII signal while removing far more light from beyond the specific OIII wavelength.
