Well known for its remarkable EdgeHD optics, the Celestron CPC Deluxe 925 HD Computerized Telescope is exactly what both a visual astronomer as well as an astrophotographer who wants to image without the hustle and bustle of an equatorial mount. Better yet, with the addition of the optional Celestron HD Wedge (not included, sold separately) and Fastar compatibility, it turns into an excellent long exposure optical instrument!

With the renowned EdgeHD optics, many annoying and potentially damaging optical affects to astroimagers, especially those doing long exposure, are virtually removed altogether. Since the EdgeHD framework uses a flat field optical system to remove aberration, field curvature and coma effect, stars appear pinpoint and in great detail at the edge of the field of view that wouldn't otherwise be obtainable in larger camera sensors.

The included 9.25" EdgeHD optical tube is coated with the flagship StarBright XLT coatings to ensure maximum light transmission across the multiple optical elements.

For astroimagers who need an extremely fast focal ratio for long exposure, good news! Simply remove the secondary mirror and attach a third party lens assembly to create an f/2 system.

The CPC Deluxe mount and tripod design is versatile and tracking is precise with the dual fork arm making it suitable as an out of the box working mount without long setup times. Better yet, there are multiple alignment options but the most useful is Celestron's renowned SkyAlign method. All the user must do is align to three bright stars (including the moon or planets) and the computer will align accordingly. Knowing the names of the stars isn't necessary!

Without the HD wedge, the CPC Deluxe can track up to 30 seconds accurately with its reengineered drive train with 6 inch brass gear, stainless steel worm gear, and steel and nylon bears. So for quick exposures it is a great choice to use! For longer exposures, the Celestron HD Wedge (not included, sold separately) is a must have add on since it allows the mount electronics to accomodate longer tracking and better Permandently Periodic Error Correction. Last but not least, no meridian flip is needed when viewing objects to ensure exposures aren't interrupted and suspended.
