Celestron - 9.25" SCT Telescope with CGEM II Equatorial Mount

The Celestron C9.25-A CGE OTA is identical in every way to the CG-5 except for the Mount Attaching Rail that it comes with. Like most Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, this Celestron 9.25" SCT has a focal ratio of f/10, making itself quite suitable for either visual or imaging use. The XLT StarBright Multi-Coatings leave the C9.25 XLT versatile for looking at many different celestial objects without the annoying optical disturbances caused by chromatic aberration. The StarBright XLT coatings also bring excellent light transmission from the corrector to the eyepiece ensuring as little light wasted as possible to produce the brightest images. The Celestron 9.25" SCT telescope uses both corrective plates and primary mirrors (aspects of both refractors and reflectors), resulting in the rather slow f/10 focal ratio but also will accommodate many accessories that can change it, making it even more suitable for faster CCD imaging or viewing. For instance, the focal reducer by Celestron (NOT INCLUDED, PURCHASED SEPARATELY) brings the focal ratio to f/6.3, making lower surface brightness objects look more impressive. This also assists in astrophotography because faster focal ratios are more efficient when taking exposures with larger pixel sizes since slower focal ratios tend to take too long and often result in undesirable results (such as possible pixel blooming). For visual astronomy, a 6x30 finderscope, 25mm eyepiece, 1.25" star diagonal, and 1.25" visual back are all included with the Optical Tube Assembly (OTA). This OTA is the very same quality as the tube assemblies that come with Celestron telescope packages but without the mount. Celestron - CGEM II Equatorial Mount

Celestron has updated the ever-popular CGEM mount. The Celestron CGEM II equatorial mount includes new ergonomic design features, the All Star alignment procedure, and legendary Celestron mount performance.  An instrument capacity of up to 40 pounds allows this CGEM II mount to carry an 11" optical tube with ease. 

The CGEM II includes extra large Altitude and Azimuth adjustment knobs so you can polar align easily, even in cold weather while wearing gloves. A dual saddle plate will accept both V and D series dovetails. Internal mount wiring keeps the exterior of your mount free from cables and prevents cable tangling or wrapping. Celestron's AllStar polar alignment procedure allows you to use any star in the night sky whether the celestial pole can be seen or not. The results are accurate polar alignment, tracking, and pointing. The Celestron CGEM II will track far beyond the meridian for uninterrupted tracking. Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PEC) will train the mount's worm gears over time to remove natural errors that occur during tracking.

Included with the Celestron CGEMII is a USB hand controller with over 40,000 objects and 100 user-defined objects plus enhanced information on over 200 objects. The mount's tripod includes height-marked adjustable legs so you can quickly set it up.
