Tele Vue-102 Complete - (Ivory)
The Tele Vue-102 is a 4-inch, 2-element f/8.6 APO air-spaced doublet, similar to the appearance to the 4-element f/5.4 Tele Vue-101, but 5-inches longer. The Tele Vue-102 achieves similar diffraction limited, high power APO viewing as its 4" sibling, along with a wide 3 degree maximum visual field (compared to 4.9 degrees for the Tele Vue-101). A dedicated 0.8x reducer/flattener is available to permit great astrophotography of star fields at f/6.9 with the Tele Vue-102.
The high quality of the TeleVue TV-102 is as remarkably clear as the views. It begins with a precision machined 880mm focal length optical tube that's lined with a flat-black textured material which totally absorbs stray light. A 102mm (4-inch) extra-low dispersion glass doublet objective lens gives the system a f/8.6 focal ratio with a limiting magnitude grasp of 12.5 and a stunning resolution of 1.14 arc seconds over a wide 3º maximum visual field. By incorporating only the most modern optical glass, this air-spaced doublet object is able to render the full visual spectrum on a level of color correction usually only found in refractor telescopes designed with more optical elements or made with high-dollar fluorite glass.
At the viewing end is a 2" rack-and-pinion focuser with helical-cut gears, fashioned with large, user-friendly knobs that glide with effortless precision. A retractable dew shield wards off stray light during daylight terrestrial observing and troublesome dew at night.
The Televue TV102 Complete package comes equipped with a Custom Hard Carrying Case, 2" Everbrite Diagonal, 1.25" - 2" Adapter, Mounting Ring and TeleVue 20mm 1.25" Plossl Eyepiece.
