Vixen ED115S 4" APO Refractor with Sphinx SXD Mount
The Scope: The newly designed high definition ED lens on Vixen's ED115S 4" Refractor gives excellent optical performance with its Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass. Chromatic aberration is virtually eliminated. The new ED lenses feature brighter images from the shorter f/7.7 focal ratio to capture crisp, pinpoint star images for your enjoyment. The ED115S Refractgor's lenses are made with environmently friendly technologies and free of hazardous lead.
The astro-photographer will be especially pleased with the high contrast images through this telescope and the full objective diameter of 4". The ED115S comes complete with 125mm tube rings and Vixen's New Dual Speed Focuser. Covered by a 5 Year Warranty. Manufactured in Japan.
The Mount: Incorporating one piece hardened steel RA and DEC shafts with needle bearings throughout, the new Sphinx D can handle a load capacity up to 50 lbs. The Sphinx SXD comes complete with PEC, backlash compensation, and the incredibly accurate SX Polar Finder Scope.
All level of astrophotographers are sure to feel right at home with the intuitive controls that so many have become accustomed to with the standard Sphinx Mount. Its 4.7" Color LCD Display gives an exact position against its scrolling star chart.

The innovative STAR BOOK hand controller offers astronomical navigation with a large full-color LCD screen. The color screen is a detailed star chart that acts as a navigational and GOTO guide for the mount. The database contains over 22,000 objects and others can be added. Zoom-In/Out buttons for the color star chart display also control the motor speed. As you zoom in closer to an object on the display screen, the motor speed automatically becomes finer and as you zoom out the motor speed increases to cover larger distances.

The optical tube comes equipped with a metal carry handle for easy one-hand carrying. The new lenses focus the full visible spectrum of visible light to a critical point much more accurately than past ED product. The ED115S lenses are almost free of chromatic aberration in all colors and are critically sharp edge to edge. The astro-photographer will be especially pleased with the high contrast images through this telescope.
