Celestron's C5 Spotting Scope is a 5" (127mm) aperture, 1250 mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system. Its optical excellence is the reason it was chosen by NASA for many space shuttle missions.

This is a discontinued item. We suggest the C6 Acromat Refractor OTA as a replacement.

A new optical tube by Lunt, the 102mm ED Doublet! With a slow focal ratio of f/7, this optical tube is an excellent choice for observation of the moon, sun, and planets. When using solar filter, this telescope is great for sun observing!

Recently, Astronomy magazine ran a "buyer's guide" to portable 4" apochromatic refractors. All were impressive scopes, no doubt. But considering their price tags, which ranged from $2,695 (yes, that was the cheapest) to $3,595, you'd be excused if you didn't run right out and throw down your credit card for one. The VMC200L is a unique catadioptric optical system. It incorporates a primary mirror and a meniscus corrector just before a secondary mirror. By doing so, light is corrected twice on the optical path.
