Ultra High Contrast (UHC) Filters

The Astronomik UHC filter is for visual deep-sky observation.

This 2" UHC filter is made with less expensive glass than Astronomik's high-end UHC filter, but is of higher quality than other economy UHC filters on the market.

The new ultra high contrast (UHC) LPR filter has improved contrast over the typical broadband filters. Sky background is darker, and contrast of emission nebulae are noticeably improved. The advanced technology coatings enable the filter to achieve an outstanding transmission of over 97% across the entire bandpass, with total blockage of prominent light pollution lines. The perfect filter for viewing nebula from light polluted skies, or for boosting the contrast of nebula from dark sky sites.

All Tele Vue filters are individually inspected for cosmetic and optical properties, as well as being serialized.

The NebuStar Filter is a great general purpose filter for all nebulae observation.  Red-blocking properties permit brighter & sharper star images.
