The finest zoom eyepiece available. High-resolution 7-element multi-coated optics, with 55 degree field at 8mm. Graduated scale in 1mm units indicates exact focal length in use. High-eyepoint yields comfortable observing even with eyeglasses. Internal zoom lenses move on the smoothest, most precisely-machined tracks yet developed for zoom optics. Performance is fully consistent with the finest fixed-focal lenght eyepieces. Threaded for filters, rubber eyecup.

Advanced illuminated reticule eyepiece, both Plossl 6mm and 12mm models include micrometric x-y positioning controls that greatly facilitate locking onto the guide star by turning the threaded controls and placing the reticule's cross-line pattern precisely at the desired point in the field of view.

A 4-element Plossl design with fully multi-coated lenses ensures bright views through the illuminated reticle eyepiece. Its 40° apparent field is ideal for multiple functions. The LED-illuminated double crossline reticle has adjustable focus and brightness. Three GP-189 batteries (included) are required for illuminator operation. Also compatible with three SR-54, SG-10, or equivalent button-cell batteries (not included). The Orion 12.5mm Illuminated Plossl telescope eyepiece features a 1.25" barrel diameter, compatible with 1.25" telescope focusers, or 2" focusers equipped with a step-down 1.25" adapter.
