As it is, this Astro-Tech diagonal is unique among 1.25” star diagonals for its exceptional price/performance ratio. This is one premium-quality diagonal that doesn’t happen to be priced like one – and it’s still a hot product for many observers.

The problem with Amici prisms is due to the fact that they must have a high-end surface quality to be effective. The Baader AMI-DX1 now brings this to reality. With a slightly oversized prism providing a full clear aperture of 1.25", the AMICI-45 balances the effect of the defects found in amici diagnols.

The Diagonal Mirror has enhanced dielectric coatings that give an incredible 99% reflectivity over the visual spectrum.

Celestron's 1-1/4" Erect Image Diagonals are an Amici prism design. This design allows you to look into the telescope at a 45° angle, at images that are oriented properly, meaning the image is upright and correct from left to right.

Our Star Diagonal lets you view objects that are at a 90° angle from the direction the telescope is pointing, thereby allowing comfortable viewing when the telescope is pointed at, or near, the zenith (i.e. directly overhead). The resulting image is right side up, but will be reversed from left to right.

This 8x20 finderscope features an erect image.

Finderscopes are secondary scopes, used to help locate objects in the main telescope. The larger the finderscope, the more you'll see, to an upper limit of 50mm.

Units larger than 50mm have too narrow a field of view to be useful. Finderscopes mount onto the main telescope tube and are an invaluable tool in locating objects for viewing.

This is the 1.25" star diagonal supplied with the Meade LX-Series Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (LX90, LX200, etc). It is a replacement for a lost or damaged Meade scope diagonal, but can also be used with any brand of refractor or catadioptric telescope that accepts 1.25" accessories. It uses a fully coated 90° prism with 100% internal reflection for high light transmission. A thumbscrew holds eyepieces in place.

Telescopes contain internal mirrors that reflect light to the telescope's astronomical observing position. In this position, the telescope's image is upright, but reversed left-to-right. This is of little consequence for astronomical viewing, but for terrestrial observing it is highly desirable to have a correctly oriented image. The #928 Erecting Prism delivers a fully corrected image and provides a convenient 45 observing angle for optimal terrestrial viewing.
