Parallax - 8" OD Tube Rings (Meade 178 ED, Astro-Physics 180 EDT, Takahashi MT-160, Epsilon 160)
These 8" outside diameter split tube rings are made of die-cast aluminum, finished in gloss black paint, and lined with felt. The hinges, no-tool knobs, and hardware are made of stainless steel for long life and easy telescope installation and removal.
The rings are installed onto your mount or mount dovetail plate via a 1/4"-20 thread mounting hole that is drilled and tapped in the flat boss on the bottom of each ring. A similar hole is drilled and tapped on the top boss so that accessories, such as a piggyback camera mount, can be attached.
