Pentax PF-65ED II Straight Spotting Scope (Body Only) with Field Case
A 65mm objective lens and porro-prism optics are incorporated into the PENTAX PF-65ED scope. PENTAX's proprietary ED (Extra-low Dispersion) optical elements ensure high-clarity images with insignificant chromatic abberation. The PENTAX PF-65ED's straightline lens barrel optimizes deployment, making subject-spotting simple, even while in motion.
This scope has a JIS Class 6 rating, meaning it can tackle extreme weather situations and continue to perform as intended. Its small form factor, low weight, nitrogen-filled body makes it extremely portable. The PENTAX PF-65ED features a collet-type eyepiece for the American -standard 31.7mm (1.25 inches) sleeve, a tough rubber shell, and ergonomic design which eases access for both hands. The lens barrel, when mounted upon a tripod, can be rotated 90-degrees clockwise or anti-clockwise from the detente postioion at top. It can also be turned 180-degrees from side-to side with easily located pointers at the top and at 45-degree angles, facilitating the optimum viewing position. A sight line is included in the extending rubber hood for accuracy in target-line adjustment. PENTAX has created three compact yet high-performance XF-series eyepieces, each featuring a high clarity image, American-standard 31.7mm sleeve and focal lengths which are suited for outdoor observation and bird-watching.
The smc PENTAX XF8.5 and XF12 are standard unifocal eyepieces, offering a focal length of 8.5mm and 12mm, and a magnification of 46 and 32.5 times, respectively, with a 60 degree apparent field of view and a long 18mm eye relief. The eyepieces feature an extendible eyepiece ring with four click-stop positions. The smc PENTAX XF Zoom Eyepiece 6.5mm-19.5mm features a focal-length range of 6.5mm to 19.5mm for a magnification of 20 to 60 times, with an apparent field of view of 42 to 60 degrees and eye relief of 11mm to 15mm.
A user-friendly rubber eyepiece ring is offered in order to substantially reduce the risk of scratching the observer's spectacles. Additionally, four smc PENTAX XW-series telescope eyepieces (XW7, XW10, XW14 and XW20) are usable on this spotting scope. See our catalog. In a typical example of Pentax's forward-thinking and versatility, these spotting scopes are compatible with the optional PF-CA35 camera adapter, for conversion into high-quality super-telephoto lenses with a focal length of 780mm and a fixed aperture of F12 in combination with a PENTAX 35mm-format SLR camera.
