Many of the world's top astronomers got started with a scope much like this one, and so can you or a family member. A quality refracting telescope for land or sky viewing. A first look at the rings of Saturn or the craters on the Moon can inspire a lifetime of exploration.

This great first scope for a new astronomer, student or a family gift has a lens diameter of 70mm (approximately 2.75 inches) which allows viewing of the craters on the Moon, rings of Saturn, cloud belts of Jupiter along with several of its moons, and detection of countless star clusters, double stars, nebulas and more. Includes the amazing AutoStar Suite Astronomer Edition astronomy software DVD. This Windows compatible software has instructional videos to help learn the use of the scope as well as chart the night sky with over 10,000 objects including planets, galaxies, and nebulas.

Telescope focal length is 600mm, focal ratio of f/8.5, and features a full size 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser and an easy to set up and use metal altazimuth yoke type mount with vertical slow motion control and two MA eyepieces (9mm, 25mm) for high and low power. This fully equipped model also includes a 5x24 viewfinder, diagonal mirror, height adjustable full size aluminum tripod with accessory tray. This special package also includes a BONUS 2X Barlow lens to double the power of the eyepieces, an image erecting prism to allow use in the daytime and have images be both right side up and correct left to right, and a durable nylon carry bag.
