To overcome the fourth limitation (astigmatism), Televue has developed a corrector which fits directly onto the eyepiece. Just as Dobsonian owners could not fully appreciate the performance of Televue eyepieces until installing the Paracorr to compensate for mirror coma, the majority of the population (which has some eyesight limitations due to astigmatism) had no way to correct for this except by wearing eyeglasses. That is until now.
The 10mm Ethos delivers: 100° apparent field (50% larger in area than 82° Naglers), comfortable eye-relief, (accepts DIOPTRX eyesight astigmatism correctors), distortion correction, high contrast and on-axis sharpness for planetary viewing ... Learn More
The new 4.7mm Ethos-SX, like its 3.7mm progenitor, is designed and crafted to combine its exceedingly wide field of view with all the contrast, color-rendition, distortion correction and center-to-edge sharpness needed to achieve that natural view ... Learn More
All Tele Vue filters are individually inspected for cosmetic and optical properties, as well as being serialized. The NebuStar Filter is a great general purpose filter for all nebulae observation ... Learn More
Housed in a 2" barrel like the 35mm, the 27mm is lighter & smaller. It's perfect for any telescope size, type or speed, where a little more magnification is desired, yet still allows full field viewing with eyeglasses ... Learn More
Qwik Point provides DAY/NIGHT sighting for any telescope, spotting scope, or binocular. With a flick of a switch, the illuminator changes from bright to dim. The night mode includes a variable brightness adjustment ... Learn More
The TeleVue Extension Tube - X2C-0008 provides an additional 2" of focuser travel length which can sometimes be necessary when doing photography through many scopes - particularly when the 2" diagonal is removed.
The Televue Spacer 0.375" (9.5mm) threaded coupling provides the necessary distance for proper spacing between field lenses and CCD chip. Required spacers will vary, depending on camera used ... Learn More
Your eyepiece is half the telescope, use the best -- Tele Vue" - said Jack Marling, founder of Lumicon Co. "Fast" telescopes (f/4-f/6) of all types -- refractors, reflectors, Schmidt Newtonians, Mak-Newtonians require the finest eyepieces for sharp, full field viewing. Every Tele Vue eyepiece is personally tested at f/4 by our quality control staff to ensure the sharpest full field possible. It is the nature of optics that being the best in fast scopes also always assures the best performance in "slow" scopes. While every Tele Vue eyepiece type will yield the critical center sharpness so necessary for planetary viewing and splitting double stars, observers get the added bonus of a sharp wide field and comfortable eye relief with the different design models. The Tele Vue Plössls are patented to be sharper over a larger field than any competing brands of Plössls or Orthos. Tele Vue 60° Radians, 68° Panoptics, 82° Naglers and 100° Ethos are the eyepieces of choice, along with the 50° Nagler 2mm--4mm and 3mm--6mm zoom, for full field sharpness. The finest performance requires the finest materials such as high index lanthanum and fluorite type glasses, in some cases costing up to 15x more than ordinary glass types. At Tele Vue we ask "how can we make it better", rather than "how can we make it cheaper." We think you'll agree that the views are worth it.
