A single 12V power input for optional battery-powered operation. In addition, the Apogee Alta U Series cameras have dual digitization, 12 and 16 bit. The 12 bit mode is intended primarily as a focus mode.

The Alta U230 uses a very large format 4-megapixel back-illuminated sensor, ideal for applications requiring large field of view, such as sky surveys and radiology.

The FW50 series of filter wheels provide large format filtering solutions for the Alta and Ascent series of imaging systems. The FW50 filter wheel currently has two interchangeable filter carousels; A large 7 position 50mm square wheel ideal for the U9000 and U16 imaging systems, and a 9 position 50mm round wheel ideal for any other Alta or Ascent system. The filter wheel is controlled via USB 2.0. The filter wheel easily adapts to the Alta D2, D7, and D9 bodies, as well as to AP systems.

The CG47 sensor is designed with anti-blooming, which makes it perfect for demanding scientific applications. It is based upon a full frame format,  has a single ouput, and charge detection circuits on each side of the register to direct charge or split it.
