When it comes to deep-sky photography through a telescope, there are essentialy two choices for consistentcy in your results: (1) using a separate guidescope or (2) an Off-Axis Guider. Proper filter choices are also generally required depending on differing light spectrums present in your subjects.
As a complement to the ATIK EFW2 filter wheel system, ATIK has developed an Off-Axis Guider, which then provides the astrophotographer just about everything needed to successfully use the latter (2) kind of guiding system.
The ATIK off-axis guiding system features a moving prism which allows selecting the best quality stars in your corrected field of view, while allowing the possibility of using small VGA sensors up to 35mm, multi-megapixel, full frame monsters.
The AXIK off-axis guider also features an extremely smooth and precise fine focus system, with extension rings of 3 different lengths, so that different types of cameras reach focus with different types of autoguiders.
The ATIK OAG interfaces perfectly with the EFW2, meaning that no space exists between both units, keeping total backfocus requirements low.
