KAI-29050 G1 Sensor:
The Apogee Ascent CCD features the KAI-29050 image sensor from kodak with a 29 megapixel CCD in 35mm optical format. The KAI-29050 G1 uses the Kodak Truesense 5.5 micron Interline Transfer CCD Platform to broaded dynamic range with excellent imaging performance. The Kodak sensor also has flexible readout architectures with 1,2, or 4 outputs full resolutions at 4 frames a second. Image blooming can be suppressed by a vertical overflow drain and electronic shuttering is now possible to enhance and improve performance. Other features this sensor adds to this Apogee Ascent camera include low dark current, negligible lag, and low smear.

The Ascent Camera Series supports a variety of interline transfer sensors with high quantum efficiency and low dark current. Most cameras are available with a choice of monochrome sensor or color sensor with a Bayer mosaic. Low noise and small pixels are ideal for OEM applications, astrophotography, biological sciences, guiding / adaptive optics, and other high frame rate applications.
