CELESTRON • LCM70 70mm Computerized Refractor   • 22052 •

As a very basic telescope, the Celestron LCM70 serves as both a terrestrial and astronomical based telescope due to its portability and easy assembly process. No special tools are required for mounting, simply snap the optical tube on the Altaz head. Since the focal ratio is very slow (f/13), the moon and many of the brighter planets will have great contrast and detail for a telescope of this price. Using the NexStar computer control technology, there is 4,000 object GoTo database consisting of planets and many of the deep sky object catalogs. One of the best alignment features in the LCM70 refractor is the SkyAlign.  SkyAlign requires no knowledge other than date, time and location. Simply point and center the telescope to three stars and based upon the on-board computer calculations, the software can detect which points those were and therefore align itself. However, if the user wants to start learning the night sky, Celestron has also included TheSkyX First Light Edition Astronomy Software with purchase.
