Details

The Astromaster 70AZ Refractor is an excellent beginner telescope for observing planets because of its refractor design and slow focal ratio. This design is simple to set up and assemble, consisting only of an optical tube, computerized base, aluminum tripods, and accessory tray; no additional tools are required. With the SkyAlign method, the observer can quickly point the scope to three stars and based upon the NexStar’s database, the telescope can align itself just by inserting basic information like time, date and location. There is a 4,000 object database which includes deep sky objects like Messier and NGC as well as the planets and numerous other solar system objects. With the included SkyX First Light Edition Astronomy Software, there is a 10,000 object database with lots of information. Two eyepieces are included, a 10mm and 20mm which result in magnifications of 45x and 90x.

  • SkyAlign - Easy alignment process
  • 10mm and 20mm included eyepieces
  • NexStar 4,000 object database
  • SkyX First Light Edition Astronomy Software
  • Easy to assemble!

Product Series

If you’re looking for a dual-purpose telescope appropriate for both terrestrial and celestial viewing, then the AstroMaster Series is for you. Each AstroMaster model is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. The AstroMaster Series produce bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors.
