With the new EDG VR 85 Fieldscope by Nikon, one now has the luxury of the first VR (Vibration Reduction) system built directly into the fieldscope. This inhibits unecessary image vibration and provides for a much wanted space for those details to come through. As a camera shakes, the light entering can converge between the source and the lens. Vibration Reduction compensates for this by detecting both vertical and horizontal movements to a maximum angular velocity of 1/1000 of a second! Amazing or what! As a result, Vibration Reduction, chromatic-aberration and a bunch of other technologies such as multilayer lens and prism coatings, maximum focal length is now an option.
