CELESTRON - CGE Pro Mount with 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain Computerized Telescope (11086)
The Celestron Pro 925 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope is great for both visual and imaging use, yielding edge-to-edge clarity for either. The 9.25" optical tube has a light gathering power 1000x more than the naked eye can detect. Celestron has implemented its Starbright XLT Coatings to improve the reflectivity of the mirror. For visual use, the supplied Nexstar Hand Controller allows the observer to slew to all the Messier Objects, hundreds of NGC, IC, and Caldwell objects, planets as well as the moons of Jupiter, rings of Saturn and details on Mars are all visible. The Schmidt-Cassegrain optical design is excellent for imaging because it utilizes both mirrors and correcting plates. This makes both planetary. viewing and deep sky viewing with fast CCD cameras (especially with the use of a Celestron combination focal reducer to ƒ6.3 and field corrector lens accessory).
With the CGE Pro Equatorial mount, astrophotographers will want to take advantage of the payload capacity and cut-steel worm gears that assist in tracking and alignment. With the All-Star Alignment, the CGE Pro aligns to the NCP through a series of star-by-star reference points that help aid in adjustment of altitude and azimuth to properly polar align. This is helpful for visual and imaging astronomy since it results in a 5°/per second maximum slew rate that increases the amount of objects that can be seen during a given period. With an accuracy of 5 arc minutes on its own and up to 1 arc minute with additional pointing features, the CGE Pro is equipped with materials that compensate for inaccuracies in the mount for better astro-imaging observation. The Mount can also track past 20° through the meridian and has 9 different slewing rates including 5.5 deg/s, 2 deg/s, 0.5 deg/s, 64x, 16x, 8x, 4x, 1x, 0.5x.
CGE Pro Equatorial mounts can easily be balanced in both axes. Simply sliding the counterweight for Right Ascension and moving the optical tube along its dovetail mounting for Declination accomplishes balancing the weight of camera equipment and other visual accessories.
