The 11" Schmidt Cassegrain optical tube features StarBright XLT coatings which assist in improving light transmission in the optics higher than other standard aluminum coatings. With a light gathering power of 1593x more than the human eye, which is 89% more than the 8" model. Due to the lightweight of this telescope (under 30 pounds), it serves as a great combination of portability and quality for both visual and imaging observing.

The optical tube assembly is mounted on the Advanced GT mount that uses the NexStar computer control technology, including a database of over 40,000 celestial objects with information on over 200 of them. These include the planets and many of the famous deep sky catalogs as well. With the RS-232 and autoguider ports, the mount can be controlled and flash upgraded via the PC as well as control of a camera for astrophotography.
