The 7x50 Prostar was evaluated by Astronomy Magazine's Richard Berry as the conoiseurs' astronomy
binocular.
Provides a 7.1mm exit pupil, high quality lens glass and full multicoating for the ultimate in
low light viewing and optical versatility.
Nikon's astronomy binoculars use durable, all-metal construction and O-ring sealed nitrogen
filled tubes for waterproof, shockproof and fogproof performance, and a unique "pebbled" surface
to provide ergonomic viewing.
Each of the three models utilizes top of the line, coma-corrected lenses and Nikon's exclusive
Special Purpose (SP) glass for flare-free pin point image clarity. The glass is specially ground
and polished to eliminate surface aberrations and provide crisp, clear resolution and the highest
possible light transmission. The lenses and prisms are coated with multiple layers of Nikon's
proprietary anti-reflective lens coatings to improve light transmission, enhance color rendition,
and provide flare-free viewing. In each binocular, the power is designed to complement a large
objective lens delivering the perfect balance of resolution and generous exit pupil.
The 7x50 Prostar measures 8.5" x 8.1" and weighs 48.3 ounces. The Nikon 7x50 Prostar has a field
of view of 383' at 1,000 yards and an exit pupil of 7.1mm. It is tripod adaptable for steady,
detailed observation.
