R. A. stands for Right Ascension. A right ascension motor is sometimes called a tracking motor
because it allows a telescope to track the movement of the stars across the night sky, or a clock
drive motor because that movement is measured in clock based hours, minutes and seconds. All of
our R. A. motors have a clutch for manual override.
