Taken from light polluted SIMI VALLEY looking towards more light polluted San Fernando Valley / LA
Imaging: Telescope was the FSQ 106 (old Q) with the Canon 20DA Camera (Camera Noise reduction on) and a light pollution Lumicon Deep Sky filter.
Auto guider: Piggy back was the Williams Optic 66 telescope with the Orion sky-shoot Auto guider at 5 second exposures.
Guided on the comet nucleus with the PhD Guiding program controlling the Losmandy G11 guide port.
The photo is the stacking of 8 exposures of 5 minute each (plus 5 min. for noise reduction). Stacked and Processed with PHOTOSHOP CS4.
The Comet nucleus was rather faint and the Orion Sky-shoot Autoguider tracked it for over 2 hours. [Back to Thumbnail Gallery] [Click here or Image for Best Resolution>]
