Navigating the Calendar on Telescopes.net

If you are interested in getting more out of your telescope than just pointing it at the sky and looking hopefully, you will want to check out the calendar for Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes. There you will find excellent resources and links to places that will give you a more in-depth look into astronomy. These resources allow parents and children alike to learn more about phases of the moon, positions of the planets and stars, as well as astronomical history.

When you get to the calendar page, you see a list of astronomical and community events that you can take part in. Astronomical events are more often about phases of the moon and when you can see them in the sky, which helps novices and students learn about recognizing the moon phases and what each looks like. Featured public events let you get involved with the astronomical community and take part in events such as free demonstrations and societal meetings. From there, you can subscribe to calendar updates so you can keep track of events.

Also on the calendar page, Woodland Hills Camera & Telescopes allows you to put in your local city and see daily events, such as sunrise and sunset, so you can view each with your telescope. At the bottom is a widget that updates daily with notable astronomical events in history for you to learn more.
